Grafton Architects (who designed our school) win Pritzker prize, architecture’s top honour

Grafton Architects, who were the architects who designed our original school building, have just been awarded the Pritzker prize, described as the “Nobel prize for architecture”.

Yvonne Farrell and Shelley McNamara were both involved in our school’s design and met regularly with parents and staff in refining the plans.

The dens which are such a distinctive feature of our classrooms were modeled on a similar design that they saw in a school in Italy.

Visitors to our school regularly comment on how beautiful the building is, but it also highly functional and works really well as  a place of teaching and learning. This is due in large part to the willingness of the architects to engage with and listen to the staff as they developed the design and we are delighted that they are getting the recognition they deserve.
